The resort is a natural paradise situated in the Algarve, in the quiet town of Porches, Lagoa municipality. The hotel is 50 km from Faro International Airport, less than 40 minutes by car, set high on a cliff overlooking the sea at Gaivotas Beach. The Vilalara is a true verdant oasis. There are 12 hectares of lush botanical gardens with more than 150 species that invite the visitor to enjoy one of the hotel’s botanical tours. Vilalara Thalassa Resort has 104 Junior Suites, 7 Suites and 13 apartments. All equipped with free wireless internet access. With private terraces overlooking the gardens, the sea or the pools, they are spacious and comfortable, decorated in cool neutral shades.

The resort`s two restaurants located beside the cliff-top pool have been completely renovated and redesigned. The B&G Restaurant now offers a menu of reinvented Portuguese cuisine, serving innovative dishes with an emphasis on local, quality produce. This restaurant will continue to offer its already famous gourmet menus of fresh, low-calorie recipes.
The Terrace Grill*, with nature as a backdrop, features freshest fish, seafood and Summer barbeques with live music.
Tonic Lounge Bar is located beside the cliff-top pool featuring an outdoor deck and magnificent sea views. Two restaurants, the same challenge, offer varied gourmet cuisine combining the best flavours of Portuguese and international cuisine in a laid-back and relaxed atmosphere. All this comes with one essential ingredient: the love of good hospitality.

Among the resort’s sports activities, we recommend the four tennis courts and the weekly Yoga Thalasso Detox programmes, which combine yoga with seawater cures (thalassotherapy). The fitness suite in the Thalassotherapy Centre is free, as is the sauna and Turkish bath. For our younger guests, there is a new indoor and outdoor theme park in the Koala Club, featuring entertainment programs in the company of professional entertainers.

The resort has three restaurants: Dietético, with low-calorie menus defined daily by the chef, Gastronómico, which has an international menu with special emphasis on Portuguese cuisine and a dazzling sea view and the Grill, located beside the cliffside swimming pool, serving fish and barbecued meat specialities.
